Carry an entire operating system in your pocket! Boot ANY computer into Linux Mint or Zorin OS — without installing anything. This is the most empowering thing you'll ever do with a USB stick.
Here's what a bootable Linux USB can do:
Ühenda oma USB-mäluseade ja käivita Linux MIS TAHES arvutis — raamatukogus, koolis või sõbra juures
Arvuti kõvakettal ei muudeta midagi — eemalda USB ja oleksid nagu polekski seal käinud
Test Linux without risk — if you like it, install it. If not, just remove the USB
That "dead" old laptop? It might run perfectly with Linux — test it with your USB first!
If Windows crashes, boot your Linux USB to recover files and fix problems!
Vajad vaid USB-mälupulka (8GB+) ja allalaadimiseks internetiühendust. Kõik muu on tasuta!
Both are perfect for beginners! Here's how to choose:
The #1 beginner-friendly Linux. Stable, familiar layout, just works out of the box.

For most people: Start with Linux Mint Cinnamon — it's the most stable and familiar. For students/kids: Try Zorin OS Education — it comes with GCompris, Stellarium, KDE Education apps, and more pre-installed! For very old PCs: Use Linux Mint XFCE või Zorin OS Lite.
8 GB minimum (16 GB recommended). Any brand works!
To download the Linux ISO file (~3–4 GB)
To create the USB (Windows, Mac, or Linux)
Creating the bootable USB will ERASE everything on the USB stick! Enne alustamist veendu, et seal pole midagi olulist. Varunda esmalt kõik failid.
Üks ISO file is a complete copy of an operating system in one file. Think of it as a digital "snapshot" of the entire Linux system ready to be put on a USB.
Download from the official website:
Download Linux Mint →Choose "Cinnamon" edition (recommended)
Download from the official website:
Download Zorin OS →Choose "Core" (tasuta) või „Haridus“
Linux Mint: Choose Cinnamon for modern PCs, or XFCE for older/slower PCs.
Zorin OS: Choose Core for most PCs, Lite for older PCs, or Haridus for students (includes 20+ learning apps!).
You need a special tool to "burn" the ISO file onto your USB stick. We recommend balenaEtcher — it's free, open source, and works on Windows, macOS, and Linux!
If you're already on Linux, you can also use the built-in USB Image Writer (kaasas Linux Mintiga) või paigalda Etcher terminali kaudu:
sudo apt install balena-etcher-electron
This is the main step — writing the Linux system onto your USB stick. It's incredibly easy with Etcher:
Veendu kindlasti, et valid oma USB stick and NOT your computer's hard drive! Etcher usually auto-detects the USB, but always verify. If you flash to the wrong drive, you'll erase your computer's data!
Nüüd võluhetk — arvuti käivitamine USB-mälupulgalt!
Some computers have Secure Boot enabled, which may block Linux from starting. If your USB doesn't boot, restart the computer, enter BIOS/UEFI settings (tavaliselt vajutades F2 või Delete), otsi "Secure Boot" ja disable it. Seejärel proovi uuesti.
Congratulations! You're now running a complete Linux operating system from a USB stick! The computer's hard drive is untouched — everything runs from the USB.
Here's what you can do right now:
ls, pwd, apt searchIf you love the Linux experience, you can install it permanently on your hard drive! There's an "Install" icon on the desktop. You can even dual-boot — keep Windows AND Linux side by side and choose which one to use at startup.
When running from USB ("live" mode), any changes you make (files saved, apps installed) will be lost when you shut down — unless you create a "persistent" USB. To keep changes permanently, install Linux to the hard drive or create a persistent partition.
EI! Booting from USB does NOT touch your hard drive at all. When you remove the USB and restart, your computer goes back to Windows exactly as it was. It's 100% safe.
It works on almost any PC or laptop made in the last 15 years. It may NOT work on some newer computers with very strict Secure Boot, or on Apple M1/M2 Macs (those use a different processor architecture). Intel and AMD PCs work great!
8 GB minimum, kuid soovitame 16 GB või rohkem so you have room for persistence (saving files). USB sticks are very cheap — a 32 GB stick costs about $5.
Linux Mint ja Zorin OS toetavad riistvara suurepäraselt. WiFi, Bluetooth, printerid, veebikaamerad — enamik töötab kohe. Harva võib vaja minna lisadraiverit, kuid nüüdisaegse Linuxiga on see ebatavaline.
Yes! But they'll be temporary — lost when you shut down. To keep apps permanently, either install Linux to your hard drive or create a USB with "persistent storage" (which is a bit more advanced).
Both are excellent! Linux Mint is more stable and lighter (better for older PCs). Zorin OS is more beautiful and has better Windows-look compatibility. For kids/students, Zorin Education edition is amazing. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either!
Linuxiga USB-mälupulk on enamat kui lihtsalt tööriist. See on digital freedom. See tähendab, et saad kõikjal maailmas käivitada iga arvuti tasuta avatud ja privaatse operatsioonisüsteemiga. Ilma litsentsita. Ilma jälgimiseta. Keegi ei saa seda sinult ära võtta.
«وَأَلَنَّا لَهُ الْحَدِيدَ»
Technology softened for everyone. One USB stick. Infinite freedom. ✨
